When I lived in New York City Chinese people would often be found selling bootleg copies of CDs. Usually for $2-5 (US) per disc. They used to have a cell phone network to warn them when the cops would come. They would scurry away with their little pushcarts if there was a whiff of the fuzz. Very enterprising people, if somewhat shady (the Chinese,that is...wait, the cops too). I went back this summer for a visit after 5 years were so. No bootleg CDs to be found.
Same thing in Mexico bro... I have family in Mexico and when I go visit, there are always little stands set up with DVD's & CD's...but there ain't no cops buggin' them. They'll be selling DVD's that are brand new movies - only they're cam versions and shit like that...
